It was nip-and-tuck at the top of the timing screens at the end of day three of Formula 1 pre-season testing between Mercedes and Ferrari, with Valtteri Bottas ending the day quickest and, not far off his pace, Sebastian Vettel second fastest.
Bottas set his time of 1:19.705 using Pirelli Ultra Soft tyres, while Vettel clocked a best lap time of 1:19.952 with a set of Softs. Ferrari have yet to run Super Softs or Ultra Softs on the SF70H.
Notably Vettel also racked up 139 laps during the course of the day, although his final run did not happen as the Ferrari coasted to a halt at the end of the pitlane with ten minutes remaining in the afternoon session.
