Russian Grand Prix

Amid reports in Russia that Omega, the Sochi Autodrom management company, is in financial difficulties the country’s Grand Prix promoter is adamant that the race will happen..

Sergei Vorobyov told R-Sport, “The Formula 1 calendar was recently published where the Grand Prix of Russia is confirmed. We are skeptical about attempts to link this news with the race which is not in danger.”

The FIA released a provisional 2017 calendar last week, which consists of 21 races with the Russian Grand Prix, at Sochi scheduled for April 30 – only the races in Canada, Germany and Brazil are subject to confirmation.
