Haas F1 driver Romain Grosjean has accepted an invitation by DA Racing team manager Dominique Dubourg to participate in the third round of the Andros Trophy on the Alpe circuit Huez on 16-17 December.
Grosjean has raced before for the team at the Trophée Andros and could not resist the call of the ice to rub paint once again with ice racing specialists.
The Frenchman said of his return to ice racing, “The Alpe d’Huez event fits well into my winter schedule and it’s one of the closest races to my home. Plus, Alpe d’Huez is where I made my debut on ice in the Andros Trophy.
“I return to the series for a couple of reasons. First, driving a four-wheel drive Clio Silhouette on ice is sheer pleasure. Then, it’s a great opportunity to meet again with Jean-Baptiste Dubourg’s family and share our passion by spending unforgettable moments all together.
“The Andros Trophy is about driving pleasure and outright performance. Of course, everybody is always aiming for the best possible results, but I have not driven on ice for two years and it’s never easy to take on the experts.
“When I look at DA Racing, which has already won the Trophy with JB Dubourg, I know I can rely on the best team in the business and will make sure to use their advice to put in a strong display,” added Grosjean.
