Sean Bull is a big Formula 1 with an awesome artisitic gift and a constructive imagination which deserves to be exposed, we thus are proud to present his work and vision – racing is clearly in his blood which means we are family.

We ran a piece last month featuring Sean’s F1 Bugatti vision. An=bove and below we present the final presentation of the project.

Here is a short Q&A with Sean about bhis work and F1:

What isnpired your design of the Bugatti 101P?
Sean Bull: The main inspirations for the 101P come from its namesake, the Bugatti 100P Aeroplane, that was recently restored and unfortunately crashed on its last flight, its a thing of pure forms and aerodynamic beauty, something current Formula One Is Lacking. i tried to infuse some design characteristics of the current Bugatti Hypercars, but its quite hard to translate road car styling onto something as hardcore as Formula one, but I’m sure you’ll b able to see some design traits in there, such as the V from the rear wing end plates linking to the body. The current state of formula one being so poor, and the ever advancing prospect of head protection being a certainty in Formula 1, how I could incorporate a canopy as an aesthetic piece of design rather than just bolted onto the current cars as the Halo is.

What are the unique or revolutionary features regarding the concept?
SB: The unique and revolutionary aspects of this vehicle aren’t pushed to the ultimate limit as i only set this car for another 4 years into the future, but every technology seen in the annotations, is either in production somewhere today, is is an existing experimental technology, such as adaptive smart materials, something that Formula One cold really Embrace, as well as new materials such as Graphine. a lot of the features though were to really bring F1 back to its pure engineering roots, such as large mechanical grip from the Tyres and Pure Ground effect, allowing a much smoother body with minimal wings as all the down-force is created underneath the car, something Formula One should really look towards, as it will only aid overtaking with less wings, akin to Formula Ford where its slip streaming battles throughout the race! the other obvious Innovation is the Tesla Turbine, with its efficiency I’m really surprised no one has produced a running version into the mass market or even other performance car or Jets, the noise it would create would be something unique as well, certainly better than the current Era!

What to you has been the most awesome design in F1 history?
SB: Anything Gordon Murray Has Designed, fan car being probably the best, absolute hero of mine. 1986 Low Line Brabham as a real beauty as well.

Who will be world champion in 2016? Nico or Lewis?
Despite being British I really want Rosberg to do it, been a fan of his ever since the Williams Years, and i think he deserves it this year.
