Fernando Alonso rates Jenson Button as one of the best teammates he has been partnered with during his career in Formula 1, which also includes the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen.

Alonso told media at Monza, “He is a very experienced driver and he is helping the team a lot with feedback and developing the car. As a driver he is very complete and is probably the best I have worked with.”

Button’s future in Formula 1 is uncertain, although Massa’s retirement has opened up a seat at Williams, it is not a given that the Briton will do a deal to race with the Grove outfit despite reports linking him to the team which gave him his F1 break in 2000.

Hamilton, who was Button’s teammate at McLaren from 2010 to 2012, Hamilton told Sky, “I’ve seen Jenson get to Formula 1, inspired by his move and the way he drove.”

“I’ve been team-mate with him, seen him win the world championship, and I hope he continues as I still feel he’s very fit and at his best. He’s definitely not gone past his sell-by-date,” added the reigning F1 world champion.
