The French Grand Prix, which was last held in 2008, is set to return to the Formula 1 World Championship calendar in 2018 and to be hosted at Circuit Paul Ricard on the Cote D’Azur.
F1i report: “A five-year contract binding the French organizers to FOM has apparently been agreed and should be announced at a press conference scheduled at the headquarters of the Automobile Club de France in Paris next Monday.”
No date has been set for the race which will at the Bernie Ecclestone owned Paul Ricard circuit, although it is believed that a five year deal has been penned with FOM.
The last French Grand Prix. in 2008, was held at Magny Cours and won by Felipe Massa in a Ferrari.
Paul Ricard hosted the French Grand Prix 14 times between 1971 and 1990, with Alain Prost victorious for Ferrari on the final visit to the venue in southern France.
