Another back-to-back race weekend is approaching with the Grands Prix in Spielberg (Austria) and Silverstone (Great Britain). After finishing the European Grand Prix close to the points at the last race in Baku, the Sauber F1 Team is keeping up the hard work and travels with a positive mindset to the next race weekends.

Marcus Ericsson (car number 9): “I am really looking forward to the next two races in Spielberg and Silverstone. Both of them are at my favourite venues. The Austrian Grand Prix is always a great experience. I like the atmosphere and the track a lot, as it is a fast circuit which I enjoy more and more. After this race we head directly to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. With its technical demand, historical heritage and passionate crowds, the so called home of British motor racing is one of the most traditionell circuits where we race Formula One cars.”

Felipe Nasr (car number 12): “The race calendar is still keeping us very busy with the next back-to-back-events. Spielberg has really nice green scenery and its track is quite a fast one. The last two corners before the start and finish line are my favourites, as they are very quick and you have to drive them very precisely. Directly following that is the British Grand Prix. Silverstone is a circuit which I enjoy driving on. It’s one of my favourite tracks. Not only, because I have been living in England for more than five years, but also because it’s always nice to come back to where motorsport and its great fans are at home.”

Track facts Red Bull Ring:
The track in Spielberg is a braking-and-traction circuit, accepting “medium-downforce” levels. The balance between the number of corners and lengths of the straights is similar to the Montreal track. However, the nature of the corners is substantially different with flowing corners in place of chicanes, and changes of elevation. Braking is also a key factor.

Circuit Red Bull Ring / 4.326 km
Race distance 71 laps / 307.020 km
